Organizational insanity and what the hell are the feds doing?

IMHO, all large organizations have their own special strain of strained logic and occasional outright insane, naturally some organizations are considerably worse then others.  The previous company I worked for was a really bad combo of hyperactive and anal-retentive, though the team I worked with was fairly level headed all things considered, kind of a small company inside a big company. 

My rather metaphoric thinking about the elected Washington DC was something along the lines of ....

The Republicans, thanks to being taken over of the neo-cons and Dobson crowd, went completely insane.  The fiscal conservatives at least seemed to be partly driven by logic and reason at times which occasionally made their thought process reasonably identifiable which at least made for rational conversation.  The legislated morality crowd was a lot of do as a say not as I do and had a pretty big sadist and masochist (yes both) tendencies.  There were a few reasonable folks in both camps but given the context, it just really didn't matter.  

I mention the reference to the reasonable folks prior to the neo-cons who are just insane, they drive a Prius with bumper stickers that read "I (heart) empire" and "kill the other".   They occasionally say things about the dominate culture that I agree with but always seems to include what a friend of mine refers to as the 'baby eating clause" having no idea how they made various leaps of logic.  They also included pretty strong dose of "how dare you not already agree with me before I finished my sentence" and stomps off in a huff to look for sharp objects to start throwing. 

As for the Democrats are well, I have no earthly idea.   Sometimes pro-environment, sometimes pro-middle class,  sometimes just someone for the Republicans to beat the crap out of at random intervals.  What made this all disturbing is they sometimes just seem to want to be Republican-lite which includes being frequently insane, sadist and masochist at different times but still being _NICE_ about it in a very mammy pamby way which is even more infuriating.   Again there were a few reasonable folks but given the context, it just really didn't count. 

When I'm referring to Feds, I'll be saying 'you' in the following because organizations do take on a personality. I say all of the above because I have no idea what you are thinking about the most recent train wreck, the _PLAN_ for deal with this was not quite three pages long..... WTF?  Are you really that arrogant to think you could fix this mess that easily?  Or are you that clueless?  Or are you trying to collpase the economy? Honestly I really don't know what you are thinking, I do know that none of us should count on you doing anything useful anytime soon.
