Cheney: Wrong about not meeting Edwards and wrong about factcheck.com

By jeremy - Posted on 05 October 2004

I don't have time tonight to point out the countless half-truths that Cheney said in the VP debate, but I have to point out two glaring errors.

Darth Cheney sort of forgot about the meeting where he sat next Edwards for several hours.

Also, In one of the best geek moves that I have seen in a while, the domain name of factcheck.com went from being a cybersquatter site to be a redirect to georgesoros.com which has "Why we must not re-elect President Bush" on the top of the page. I find it more then a little funny that Darth Cheney directed a few million people to a webpage that is strongly against Bush.

Edwards and Cheney both failed to even swing at Gwen's slow pitched "so how come a preponderance of black women get aids here in the US?"

Cheney won the marriage thing by not taking the bait, he looked attacked on a brutally personal family manner, a low blow.

Edwards failed to say that striking the preemptive first blow against a POTENTIAL enemy is a cowardly move that will make sure your day goes down in infamy.

I would agree that the debate wasn't pretty or insightful. I didn't see the reference to Cheney's daughter as a low blow. Out of the roughly twenty people I have talked with about the debate, you are the second to say they saw the reference as being a low blow. I would agree that it could have been a low blow, but Edwards brought up a fair point and I thought he handled it respectfully.

Edwards should have answered some of the questions better, but Kerry made the point very clear in the first Prez debate so I just assumed Edwards held the same view. I thought Edwards won just on the bases of going toe to toe with Cheney and holding his own.
