Having spent many, many hours watching the Polar Bears up at the Oregon Zoo as part of a behavioral study I always enjoy seeing photos like this. Bears are very intelligent and can be quite playful. Of course this doesn't mean that you should run up and try and pet the black bear cub that runs in front of the hotel and make the bellmen on duty have to chase after you and collar both of you.
Update:
On the subject of Polar Bears, if Bush is re-elected you can almost write off Polar Bears that are not held in a Zoo. The retreat of the Arctic ice sheet will massively impact ice-dwelling seals and the two primary groups that eat them: native people and polar bears.
