Western Civilization to Former Soviet Republics: save the nukes!
This is seriously from the WTF file.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/oneworld/45361392511158129763
Under the treaty signed Friday, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan committed themselves not to produce, buy, or allow the deployment of nuclear weapons on their soil.
BUTthe United States, along with Britain and France, refused to attend the signing ceremony in the Kazakh capital, Almaty, citing a 1992 treaty that Russia signed with four of the five nations that Moscow claims could allow missiles to be deployed in the region.
Basically western civilization is trying to _BLOCK_ creation of the first nuclear-weapons free zone in the Northern Hemisphere. This is completely insane and basically amounts to Western Civilization basically having a death wish. There is no victory in a nuclear war and this amounts to saber rattling on a global scale. Do you think for a minute that this won't create more hatred of the US?
Discover the Secret Right-Wing Network Behind ABC's 9/11 Deception

Less than 72 hours before ABC's "The Path to 9/11" is scheduled to air, the network is suddenly under siege. On Tuesday, ABC was forced to concede that "The Path to 9/11" is "a dramatization, not a documentary." The film deceptively invents scenes to depict former President Bill Clinton's handling of the Al Qaeda threat.
Now, ABC claims to be is editing those false sequences to satisfy critics so the show can go on -- even if it still remains a gross distortion of history. And as it does so, ABC advances the illusion that the deceptive nature of "The Path to 9/11" is an honest mistake committed by a hardworking but admittedly fumbling team of well-intentioned Hollywood professionals who wanted nothing less than to entertain America. But this is another Big Lie.
The Mouse that Whored
Ok, I've always disliked Disney but their latest effort with "Path to 9/11" crossed the line. "Path to 9/11" is filled with "numerous flagrant falsehoods", the FBI agent who was hired to be a consultant for the movie quit because the writers and producers were "making things up", and Disney sent out 900 copies of the movies to rightwing bloggers but couldn't be bother to give a copy to _ANYONE_ in the Clinton Administration. Basically Disney is doing the same old "but, but, but .... Clinton" defense and completely ignoring the laundry list of horrors of the Bush Administration.
If Disney goes ahead and plays this propaganda that I will make a point of known all the companies that advertised during this show and make a point of avoiding doing business with them, ever. For what it is worth, I'll be sending a note to Steve Jobs who is the CEO of Apple computer and on the board of Disney expressing my dismay over Disney backing this Rovian propaganda.
Stranger Than Fiction

Bush has headed off on his 10-day vacation to his home in Crawford, TX, during which time the press often likes to ask "so what is the President reading?" It's generally presumed that it'll be somehow enlightening to know which books are most strongly calling to our Commander in Chief's attention during these rare moments of personal time. The traditional answers given are a well-scripted list of titles regarding the lives of great past-Presidents, the lessons of ancient history and diplomacy, and with often a nod or two to something of more popular contemporary relevance.
Bush reads Camus's 'The Stranger' on ranch vacation
"US President George W. Bush quoted French existential writer Albert Camus to European leaders a year and a half ago, and now he's read one of his most famous works: "The Stranger."
