The Republican Culture of Life

Near as I can tell, whenever the leadership of the Republican Party drags out the "Culture of Life" it is ...

  • Generally applicable only to human fetuses and humans who are mostly dead.
  • Usually not applicable (depending on where you live) if you are a human and happen to be poor, brown, red, yellow or just somewhat annoying.
  • Not applicable to any critter that happens to be of species being pushed to extinction.
  • Not applicable to the treatment of animals regarded as livestock.

The updated pledge of allegiance (tm)

heheheh, this is too good.

"I plege allegiance to the flag of the corporate states of America and to the republicans for which it stands, one nation, under debt, easily divisible with liberty and justice for oil."

blackout

It was an interesting experiment wearing only black clothes today as I spotted several other people at work also dressed entirely in black who clearly were doing it as a sign of protest. I had a few people look down their nose at me and I think one of them flipped me off as I walked by.

Here is the graphic I had up on biohabit.org today.

I look forward to seeing what Bush can pin all of his failures on now and what boogyman he will trot out next to distract everyone while they bleed the country dry.

Emperor Bush fiddles around while ...

the rest of the world is trying to deal with the scope of this tragedy and how to help the survivors. With over 75,000 confirmed dead, Bush can't even be bothered with leaving his vacation early and had to be prodded to give more in aid to the the tsunami relief effort then what he is planning on spending on his inauguration party. The scary part is I'm not surprised by Bush behaving with such indifference.

I think it would be educational to compare and contrast how the world reacted on 9/11/2001 and how the Bush Administration is reacting to the Indian Ocean tsunami tragedy. The world reacts with horror, and Bush sits around with a dumb look on his face.
